About the Chicago Launch:

Greetings from J Street Chicago's organizing committee!   We are excited to announce the launch of our new national field and grassroots program -- J Street Local -- and our particular local address, J Street Chicago (jstreet.org/chicago). Welcome!

On February 4th, at 7:30pm, J Street Chicago will celebrate our official launch with a kick-off event at Emanuel Congregation, 5959 N Sheridan in Chicago.  This event will be our time to:

* Celebrate the new J Street national and local programs
* Hear from J Street's founder, Jeremy Ben-Ami, via video link
* Meet and schmooze with existing and potential supporters, and
* Brainstorm for the coming 6 months of programming and local action

As of the first of the year, Brit Tzedek v'Shalom's grassroots supporters are now part of J Street. We look forward to providing opportunities for all of our local supporters to take action and advance the mission of J Street through locally-based organizing and education, advocacy efforts, and targeted communications and online action. We believe this new integrated strategy - messaging, lobbying, and grassroots activism - will allow us to show our elected representatives the depth of the political support for strong American leadership to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through a two-state solution.

We hope you will join us in promoting J Street's message of hope and action on February 4. More than ever, we now have an opportunity to make a real difference in promoting peace and a two-state solution, and your help is key to making that happen.

If you'd like to work on recruitment and organizing efforts for February 4th, we welcome your your interest and your help. Please let us know by emailing us at chicago@jstreet.org

We are very excited to have joined J Street in providing grassroots strength and support to a vital and growing pro-Israel, pro-peace movement.

Warm regards,
Michael Peshkin & Sue Satter, Co-Chairs, J Street Chicago
Elliot Zashin, Ariela Lazar, Mark Zivin, Organizing Committee members.
