Writer and journalist, Yael Dayan is chair of the Tel Aviv-Yafo City Council and a former 3 term member of the Knesset, Israel's parliament. An outspoken proponent in both the Knesset and the press of equal rights for women, she has initiated and completed revolutionary legislation protecting minorities, women's and gay rights.

The daughter of the late General Moshe Dayan, she became a peace activist, joining the leadership of Peace Now, calling for the end of occupation, evacuation of settlements and active dialogue with the Palestinian Authority. Dayan was the first member of the Knesset to meet with PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat.

Ms Dayan will discuss the urgency of a two-state solution and the path towards peace.
